Address: entry to the Simpson Desert can be made from two main areas, either from Mt Dare or Birdsville.

The Simpson Desert is a beautiful place to visit and drive through and the camping spots you find along the way are perfect.  Most of the time you find little clearings in the swails between the sand dunes where others have camped before you and left a firepit ready to go. You must stay within 50 metres of the track at all times.  Obviously this area is accessible via very capable, high clearance 4WD's only.
